Washington D.C. #TravelVibes

We decided to make the trip from Houston --> Washington D.C. in March during the National Cherry Blossom Festival (something I was so excited to see...however, because of the cold winter, we unfortunately didn't end up seeing any cherry blossoms). Despite missing out on seeing those, D.C. was a blast and such cool city!

HERE ARE MY TOP D.C TO-DO's:

1. D.C. BEAUTY: LIBRARY OF CONGRESS

I know what you're thinking...it's a Library. But it's so beautiful! I visited here when I was 10 and fell in love. It is still one of my favorite buildings.

2. D.C DRINKS: ADAMS MORGAN

There is so much great nightlife in D.C. but one of my favorite scenes was definitely Adams Morgan. *Recommend: Madam Organ, Tryst, Shenanigan's Irish Pub.

3. D.C. MUST DO: CAPITOL TOUR The weather

wasn't the best, but this tour was! My college friend Shahaley, current D.C. resident but Texan at heart, spent time working on "the Hill", meaning special connections at the Capitol Building. We had a blast going on a guided tour learning all about the history of the Capitol! Afterwards we visited Capitol City Brewing to grab a drink after all of our sightseeing.

4. D.C. INSPIRATION: FDR MEMORIAL

Such a beautiful tribute to one of my favorite presidents. It is located near the Jefferson Memorial and overlooks the Tidal Basin. I've also always been inspired by Eleanor Roosevelt so I was really excited to

see her statue in the memorial! One of my favorite quotes has always been, "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."

5. D.C. MUST SEE: WHITE HOUSE *Searches for Olivia Pope and President Fitz* *Searches for Francis Underwood* :)

6. D.C. EATS: SUNDAY BRUNCHIN'

I would fly back to Washington today to eat this brunch again. Cava Mezze was incredible and located super close to the Capitol. My menu faves included their green eggs and ham and the french toast. Definitely make this a stop on your next trip to D.C.!

7. D.C. FUN: DRUNK MONUMENT-ING

Adj.; "after leaving the D.C. nightlife, head over to the Washington Mall and rent bikes." Sightseeing

includes the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Smithsonians, The White House, the Reflection Pool and more. We had so much fun!

8. D.C. SWEETS: GEORGETOWN CUPCAKE

There is still SO much to do and see in Washington- we packed all this in and more in 3 days! Can't wait to go back to Washington again and soak up more history and mimosas from Cava Mezze :)

s/o to my besties Shahaley and Courtney for showing us around D.C.!

Current Music Vibe: anything Niykee Heaton. Especially this one & this one.
