A little over a week ago I channeled my inner Lindsey Vonn (US Olympic Skier) on the slopes of Breckenridge with my family! Here are some tales from the ski trails and a few tips on what to pack.

WHAT TO WEAR ON THE MOUNTAIN:
Seeing a single digit weather report created a little bit of panic. This Houston girl saw 3 degrees and thought "no way" but it wasn't as bad as I thought! I was comfortable once I had about 15 layers on- you know you're good when you finally finish layering and feel like a giant, stuffed marshmallow.
Top Half: 2 fitted long sleeve shirts + 1 on top that matched my outfit (Academy) + Ski Jacket (Academy)
Bottom Half: 2 thick leggings + ski pants (borrowed from my mom's old ski stuff but I LOVE them. So much better than the puffy pants.)
DON'T FORGET:
1. Technology Gloves- Save your hands from the cold when you want to take pictures and use your phone.
2. Heated Socks- Next time I go skiing, I'm investing in these babies.
3. Face Mask- I should've listened to my mom on this one. Bring it just in case...you will want it even if it isn't the most fashionable ski accessory.
4. Hand Warmers- they WILL save your life. I'm not kidding, buy a bunch.
5. Head Accessories- if you're like me and don't like to repeat outfits, skiing can be challenging because you do just that. I like to change up the look with different hats, headbands and scarves.

READY TO SKI!
Once we were all layered up, we were ready to hit the slopes! The weather couldn't have been more perfect and everything was so beautiful. My brother, Marc, used his new GoPro to catch all the scenery, action, and the falls ;) We even conquered (that may be an exaggeration...we SURVIVED) two Black Diamond runs and overall had a blast.

I left Breckenridge with great family memories, funny ski stories, a few brusies, and a craving to go back already! I am definitely blessed with an amazing family and it was the perfect trip right before the holidays to remember what it's really about and how grateful I am.

S/O to Shawn Christopher, a co-worker of mine, for the AWESOME t-shirt design. It was so fun to be THAT family in our matching vacay shirts :) Check out the back with all of our names inside the skier!

I hope you had a Merry Christmas and thank you for reading All Kinds of Vibes!
